ITALIAN CREME CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks, save whites
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. pecans

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
Pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together butter, Crisco, sugar, and egg yolks. Add flour, soda, vanilla, buttermilk, and pecans. Mix all ingredients together. Beat egg whites until stiff in separate bowl and then fold whites into batter. Bake 35 minutes. Prepare frosting by mixing butter and cream cheese together. Next, add powdered sugar and vanilla. Frost cake while still warm. Sprinkle with pecans. Refrigerate.
