1 sm. head red cabbage
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 sm. apple, diced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 ring Polish sausage
Salt and pepper

Shred cabbage coarsely with a sharp knife. Place in kettle with apple, seasonings, lemon juice, and water. Simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes. Saute onion in hot skillet until clear. Add to cabbage with vinegar and sausage. Cook, covered, 20 to 30 minutes. Spoon cabbage on platter; top with the sausage cut into small pieces.
