IDA'S CARROT COOKIES 
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 c. cooked carrots, mashed
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add carrots, egg and vanilla; mix well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

ORANGE GLAZE: Combine 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, some grated orange rind and orange juice to frosting consistency, and frost warm cookies.
