BEEF DINNER CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. round steak 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. flour 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. water 1 sm. onion, sliced 1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet 1/2 c. boiling water 1 beef bouillon cube 3 med. potatoes 2 tbsp. burgundy Cut meat into long thin strips. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour. In hot oil in skillet, brown meat. Add 1/2 cup water, onion, Kitchen Bouquet, cook, covered 20 minutes. Remove meat, add boiling water, bouillon cube and stir until bouillon is dissolved, making gravy. Start heating oven to 350 degrees. Pare, then thinly slice potatoes. Place half in 1 quart casserole. Add meat and remaining potatoes. To gravy, add burgundy, pour over all. Bake, covered, 1 hour or until done. |
