1 c. oil
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 2 eggs
4 c. flour
4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (opt.)

Cream sugars, shortening, oil and vanilla until fluffy. Add beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients, chocolate chips and nuts. Test cookies to see if more flour is needed. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
