MUD HEN BARS 
1/3 c. shortening (butter)
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1-2 c. miniature marshmallows
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg white

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks and mix well. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly. Spread in 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with nuts, chocolate chips and miniature marshmallows. Beat 3 egg whites. Add 1 cup brown sugar. Spread on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes until meringue is brown. Cut into bars when cool. Serves 30 bars.
