APPLE BAR RECIPE 
3 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk
Milk
1 tsp. salt
1 egg white
8-10 apples, pared and sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. corn flakes

Mix flour, salt, shortening until mealy. Stir egg yolk in measuring cup, add milk to make 2/3 cup; stir into flour mixture for crust. Divide in half, roll for bottom crust of 10x15 inch cookie pan (1 inch deep).

Put crushed corn flakes on bottom crust, pile in apples, sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll top crust and cover. Brush top crust with egg white, beaten until froth. Bake at 375 degrees for 50-60 minutes. If you wish, drizzle with thin powdered sugar/water glaze over top while still warm.
