LEMON BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 lemon rind, grated fine
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, lemon rind and milk and flour. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour in loaf pan.

GLAZE:

When baked, pour juice of 1 lemon and 1/4 cup sugar mixed on hot loaf bread as it comes from oven.
