BANANA JUMBOS 
1 c. shortening, butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (about 2)
1/2 c. buttermilk or milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in bananas, milk and vanilla. In a separate bowl, blend flour, soda, nuts and salt. Stir into batter. For best results refrigerate batter for an hour before cooking. Drop spoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake for about 10 minutes.

Makes 2 dozen cookies.
