BAKLAVA 
1 lb. butter
1 lb. fillo
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 lbs. walnuts, finely chopped

Grind nuts and combine with cinnamon and sugar. Melt butter. Brush bottom of 14 x 20 inch pan with butter. Place 1 pastry sheet; brush with butter. Repeat process until 6 sheets line bottom of pan. Add 1/3 of the nut mixture followed by 2 more pastry sheets, buttering each one. Add more nut mixture. Repeat process until all ingredients are used, ending with 6 pastry sheets/butter layer. Butter top sheet. Score with a sharp knife into diamond shapes. Place clove bud in center of each diamond. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then 325 degrees for 30 more minutes until brown.

Syrup: 2 cups water, 2 cups sugar, and juice of 1 lemon. Boil together for 15 minutes. Cool and pour over warm Baklava.
