MYRTLE STERLING'S SALAD (OR DESSERT) | |
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained 1 (6 oz.) pkg. lime flavored gelatin 2 c. buttermilk 2 env. whipped topping mix prepared with 1 c. milk 1/2 - 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts Heat pineapple with its juice to the boiling point. Add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Cool slightly and stir in the buttermilk. Refrigerate until it just begins to set. Fold in the prepared topping mix (use 1 cup milk for both packages) and the nuts. Place in a 13"x9" pan and refrigerate until set. Serve on lettuce or greens for a salad. However, it makes a marvelous dessert after a filling meal. Makes 8 to 12 servings. |
