OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. cocoa
2 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. hot water

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Then add the rest alternating wet and dry ingredients. Add hot water right after the soda. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes. This is a big cake. A dozen cupcakes can be taken out of the batter first.
