CHOCOLATE CRACKLES 
4 squares or 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, unbeaten
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. powdered sugar

Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. Remove from heat and blend in oil and sugar, add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder and salt, then stir into chocolate mixture. Add nuts and mix thoroughly. Chill soft dough several hours or overnight. Drop by teaspoon into powdered sugar and shape in balls. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. The powdered sugar will crack, giving an interesting effect. Makes 6 dozen 2" cookies.
