LEMON SAUCE 
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups water
1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

Mix together cornstarch, sugar and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in water. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and is thickened and clear. Remove from heat; stir in remaining ingredients. Serve warm over pound cake, angel cake, etc.

Makes 2 1/4 cups sauce.
