CHEESE CANAPES | |
2 (8 oz.) cream cheese 6 tbsp. mayonnaise (1/3 c. + 1 tbsp.) 5 green onions, finely chopped 5 drops hot pepper sauce (Tabasco) 1 c. parmesan cheese 1 loaf honey white bread (Northridge is excellent) Mix cheese and ingredients by hand. Cut bread with jigger size glass, 4 rounds per slice. Butter 1 side of bread and brown lightly under broiler. Put 1 teaspoon cheese mixture on unbuttered side. Place under broiler and brown lightly for 3 to 5 minutes. Place on warming tray to keep warm. Makes about 70 rounds. To make ahead of time, after mixture is put on rounds, freeze on cookie sheet. Once frozen put in freezer bags and keep frozen until ready to use. |
