MEAL IN A PIE CASSEROLE 
FILLING:

16 oz. can mixed vegetables
1 lb. ground beef
1 deep dish pie crust
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. grated cheese

Brown sauce: 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. beef broth

Prepare brown sauce base by browning flour in melted butter, stirring constantly. Stir in beef broth. Simmer, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and comes to a boil. Add drained mixed vegetables, browned ground beef (drained) and salt to brown sauce. Mix well. Pierce one deep dish pie crust with a fork in several places and bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Pour meat mixture into pie crust. Mix together egg, milk and grated cheese. Pour over the meat mixture in the pie crust. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees or until cheese topping is lightly browned. Serves 6 to 8.
