SNICKER DOODLES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Mix thoroughly the 1 1/2 cups sugar, shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Sift the flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt together and add to shortening mixture. Roll in balls the size of a walnut; roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until light brown but still soft in the middle. Do not overbake.
