OREO DESSERT 
1 pkg. chocolate Oreo cookies
2 c. powdered sugar
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate (1 square = 1 oz.)
1/2 c. butter
3 egg yolks, save whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2-1 c. chopped nuts (peanuts or pecans)
2 qt. vanilla ice cream

Chop the Oreo cookies coarsely and place in the bottom of a 9"x13" pan (save some for the top). Put the remaining ingredients except for the egg whites, nuts and ice cream, in a double boiler and bring to a boil. Cool slightly.

Beat whites until stiff. Fold into chocolate mixture. Spread this mixture over the Oreo cookie crumbs. Sprinkle nuts over this and freeze until set. Then put 2 quarts of vanilla ice cream over this. Sprinkle the remaining Oreo crumbs on top. Keep in the freezer.
