AUNT DORA'S PENN. DUTCH CHICKEN
POT PIE
 
2 c. plain flour
1 egg
1 tbsp. butter, heaping
1 tsp. salt
Enough water for right consistency

Cut into squares and let stand 2 hours covered with cloth. Boil chicken until tender; then take out of broth. Take 3 potatoes and 2 onions. Slice and put in broth in layers. Put a layer of potatoes, chicken, onions, then a layer of dough until all is in broth. Put on lid and cook 30 minutes or until potatoes are done. You may add a little saffron for flavor and color. Salt and pepper to taste.
