GINGERBREAD PEOPLE | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. molasses 1 c. butter 1 egg 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla Flour to make a stiff dough, 3 to 5 c. Combine first 7 ingredients in order listed and beat well. Add vinegar, vanilla and enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out with gingerbread people cutters. To hand on tree, make a small hole about 1/2 inch down from top of head. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. When cool, may be iced or decorated. Makes about 4 dozen. Make good gifts. |
