1/2 gal. cucumbers, washed & packed in jars
2 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. alum
1 1/2 tsp. spices

Pour over cucumbers and then in wintertime take out of jar slice them put 2 cups of sugar over them and let them set overnight, or until sugar is dissolved. Eat.
