1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. boiled water 1 c. cold water 1/4 c. butter, melted 3/4 c. sugar 1 pkg. yeast soaked in 1/2 c. lukewarm water with 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 level tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. raisins 4 to 3 c. flour 2 well beaten eggs Mix all ingredients together except yeast and flour. Add yeast and flour and mix well. Set in warm place to raise, beat down dough and let rise again. Heat lard in deep kettle until hot enough to brown dough. Drop by tablespoonfuls in hot fat. |
