BROWN RICE 
1 c. raw rice (reg. not minute)
1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 can beef consomme plus enough water to make 2 c. liquid altogether
1 sm. can mushrooms, sliced (halves)

Brown rice and onions in skillet in butter. Pour in liquids (consomme and water), mushrooms and add salt and pepper. Bake in covered dish for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serve with chicken casserole.
