APPLE DAPPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. granulated sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch bits
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 c. chopped apples

Combine sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla and beat well. Beat in eggs. Add soda, flour and salt; mix well. Batter will be very stiff. Add apples, nuts and butterscotch bits and mix well.

Bake in sheet pan at 325 degrees for about 1 hour (check at 45 minutes) or 13x9x2 and 1 (11x7x2) pans can be used instead of sheet pan. Slightly grease pans.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. milk

Bring topping to boil. With fork, punch holes all over cake, then pour topping on cake. Let stand 3 hours before serving. Better next day or next.
