CALICO BEANS 
1 lb. extra lean ground beef
1 lg. red onion, sliced thin
2 cans kidney beans, drained
1 can sm. lima beans, drained
2 (1 lb.) cans baked beans in brown sauce not tomato, drained
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light molasses
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground allspice

Break up meat and brown lightly. Use either the oven or an electric hot pot to prepare the calico beans. Put the browned meat and all the rest of the ingredients into baking dish or hot pot. Stir gently.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for an hour stirring at the half time. Or set hot pot on fast until food simmers then turn to low for 3 hours. Stir often. Dish serves 10. Tastes even better reheated. Freeze well.
