PINEAPPLE DELUXE DESSERT 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and salt which have been sifted together. Blend until crumbly. Pat in place to fill cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Set aside and cool.

FILLING:

2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
1 pt. jam (peach or apricot)
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 c. crushed nuts
10 tsp. confectioners' sugar
1/2 pt. heavy cream
Dash of vanilla

Blend cheese; add jam and 1/4 cup nuts. Pour on baked dough; sprinkle pineapple on top. Whip cream, sugar, and vanilla. Spread on top; cover with remaining nuts. Chill.
