BARNES' HOMEMADE ICE CREAM 
Vanilla
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, this is what makes this unusual
1/2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. whipping cream
1 pt. half and half
1 qt. crushed berries
Milk

In mixing bowl beat eggs, adding sugar, vanilla, cream, and half and half. Pour in freezer can, filling remaining space in can with milk.

When freezing, pour a layer of ice cubes (or chunks or crushed ice) and salt in generously with ice cream salt. Repeat this process with the freezer going until the can is full. As the ice melts replenish the ice and salt. The salt lowers the temperature and greatly speeds the process. Pour the salty water on an area of ground where you don't want anything to grow. Don't pour the salt water down the plumbing! This will rust your pipes.

To make chocolate ice cream use only 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 3/4 can of chocolate sauce.
