POLISH PRUNE SOUP 
1 qt. water
1 c. prunes
1 tbsp. butter
2 1/4 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. macaroni or home made dumplings
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar

Bring water to a boil; add the prunes, butter, sugar, and salt. Cook 8 to 10 minutes. Add macaroni and continue cooking until macaroni is done. Add water, if needed. After macaroni is done, remove from heat. Add vinegar and stir well. Cover saucepan and let stand a few minutes. This soup is good served warm or cold.

Boil a rack of ribs in the water for 2 hrs then take the rib meat off the bone and add it to the soup. Just like Busia use to make. I also purée the whole prunes an put them back in the soup.

Mark, would you have a recipe for Prune Soup (Kwas)? My mom used to make this and I love it! I remembered she mashed the prunes and added it to the spare ribs. I just don't know the order that it is done, and yours' sounds like my moms!
