CHEESE APPLE CRISP | |
2 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. sugar 6 to 8 tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg 1/4 c. butter, softened 1 1/2 c. finely shredded Cheddar cheese Combine 2 tablespoons flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir sugar mixture into apples to distribute evenly. Arrange apples in a 10 inch pie plate; sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in butter; stir in cheese. Spread on top of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm. Just as good reheated. |
