PEPPERMINT CANDY COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. chopped pecans

FILLING:

1/2 c. (1/4 lb.) crushed pink peppermint stick candy
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 oz. (2 tbsp.) cream cheese
1 tsp. milk
1 drop red food coloring

PEPPERMINT CANDY-SUGAR MIX:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. crushed peppermint candy

Cookies: Cream butter with sugar. Add vanilla, creaming well. Slowly add flour. After mixture is smooth, add chopped pecans. Chill dough while making filling and icing.

Filling: Combine candy and sugar. Blend together with cream cheese. Add gradually 1 teaspoon milk until smooth and creamy.

Peppermint Candy-Sugar Mix: Shape chilled dough into balls using a rounded teaspoon. Make an indentation in the center of each cookie to fill after baking. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 12-15 minutes or until set. Roll in peppermint candy sugar mixture. Fill indentation in the center of each cookie with 1/4 teaspoon peppermint fudge filling.

Makes about 4 dozen 2 inch cookies.
