LAYERED FRUIT SALAD AND TOPPING 
Miniature marshmallows
20 oz. pineapple tidbits
3 med. bananas
16 oz. can fruit cocktail
11 oz. can mandarin oranges
2 sm. pkgs. lemon Jello

Use 9 x 12 inch glass dish or Tupperware. Make a layer of miniature marshmallows in the bottom of dish. Layer drained fruit over marshmallows in order: Fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, and then pineapple tidbits. Make Jello and let thicken in refrigerator. When thickened, layer bananas over the other fruit and pour Jello over all. Refrigerate to set.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. drained juice
1 c. whipped cream
3 rounded tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Combine sugar and flour; blend in egg. Gradually stir in juice. Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. Then remove from heat; stir in butter and cool. Fold in whipped cream and spread over chilled Jello mixture. Before serving, sprinkle with grated cheese.
