NASHVILLE'S FRIED BISCUITS 
2 2/3 pkgs. yeast
1/3 c. warm water
1 qt. milk, scalded
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
6 tsp. salt
7 to 9 c. flour
Shortening for frying

Add yeast to warm water to dissolve. Combine milk, sugar, shortening, and salt; add yeast. Gradually add flour until a round ball forms. May be beaten in mixer with dough hook attachment. Cover with cloth and let dough rise until double. Drop from tablespoon into melted shortening and fry like doughnuts until golden brown. Yields 7 dozen.

They can be dropped on cookie sheets, frozen individually, and stored in plastic bags in freezer.
