CALIFORNIA BUTTER BALLS 
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. pastry flour (can use regular flour, sifted)
2/3 c. powdered sugar (10X)
1 c. English walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Have butter semi-soft; blend sugar and butter with pastry blender. Add flour. Blend well. Add vanilla and nuts; blend well. Shape into balls and place on well greased baking sheet and bake at 275 degrees for 45 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
