CHICKEN VEGETABLE SOUP 
6 c. water
1 by leaf
1/2 c. sliced carrots
1 cut up chicken
1/4 c. celery
1/2 c. onions
2 c. potatoes
1 tsp. parsley
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. butter

Bring water, chicken, onion, bay leaf, salt, and pepper to boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours. Remove chicken; debone. Add carrots, celery, and potatoes. Boil until tender. Add chicken, parsley, and simmer 8-10 minutes. Add butter and melt.
