KAHLUA 
4 c. sugar
2 c. boiling water
2 oz. instant coffee (crystals preferred)
1 vanilla bean, sliced down the middle (or 1 tbsp. vanilla extract)
2 c. brandy

Mix sugar and water thoroughly. Add remaining ingredient and mix well. Pour into glass jar or bottle and store for month before using. Vodka may be substituted for brandy.
