PICKLED SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage, shredded
3 med. white onions, sliced
3/4 c. sugar

DRESSING:

1 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cooking oil
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. prepared mustard

In a bowl, alternate layers of cabbage and onions. Cover with sugar. In small pot, bring dressing ingredients to a boil and pour in cooking oil and heat again. Pour dressing over cabbage and onions and cover. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Toss gently. Will keep for some time in the refrigerator.
