SATIN FUDGE FROSTING | |
1 1/2 c. sifted conf. sugar 1/4 c. shortening 1/4 c. milk 3 sq. unsweetened choc. (3 oz.) melted 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg Blend sugar, shortening, milk, chocolate and vanilla in mixing bowl. Add egg. Beat until frosting is smooth. Place bowl in ice water and stir frosting until it is thick enough to spread. If frosting gets too thick, dip bowl in hot water for a few seconds and stir. Frosts two 8 or 9 inch layers or 13 x 9 inch oblong cake. SATIN MOCHA FROSTING: Mix together 2 2/3 cups sifted confectioners sugar and 3 tablespoons cocoa. Add 1/3 cup soft butter and 1 tablespoon powdered instant coffee dissolved in 2 tablespoons hot water. Blend well. |
