CAROLINA POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 1/4 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. mace

Mix as for any other pound cake. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Always a hit!
