3 eggs
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. lard
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
6 c. sifted flour

Put soda in buttermilk; set aside. Beat eggs, add sugar, lard and beat until smooth (creamy). Add dry ingredients slowly with buttermilk, continue beating until smooth. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 degree oven until slightly browned. Can dust with white sugar before baking.
