RUTH JANSON'S FILLED COOKIES | |
2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. shortening 1 tsp. vanilla 6 c. sifted flour 4 tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. milk Cream together first 4 ingredients. Sift together 5 cups flour with remaining ingredients except milk. Add sifted flour mixture alternately with milk. Add last cup of flour gradually. Dough should be soft. Chill thoroughly. FILLING: 3 c. raisins 2 tbsp. flour 2 c. sugar 1 c. water 1/4 c. finely chopped nuts |
