AUNT MOLLY'S SOUR CREAM
CHOCOLATE CAKE
 
1/2 c. shortening
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tbsp. vanilla

Mix chocolate, shortening and water on stove until thick. Add sugar, flour, eggs and vanilla to chocolate mixture. Combine sour cream and baking soda. Add to batter. Pour batter into large loaf pan or 10 inch tube pan that is well greased. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean.

Cake becomes even more moist if frozen and then thawed.
