ALMOND SHORTBREADS 
3/4 c,. butter
1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. cornstarch
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely chopped blanched almonds

Cream butter and sugar until lightly fluffy. Add flour, cornstarch, almond extract and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Stir in almonds. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on greased baking sheets and flatten with a fork. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
