SHERRY'S LASAGNA | |
1 lb. pork sausage 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 lg. jar Prego Spaghetti Sauce (30 oz.) 1/2 tsp. basil 1 carton Ricotta (15 oz.) 1 tbsp. parsley flakes 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese, fresh 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves 1 c. shredded mild Cheddar cheese 1 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese 9 lasagna noodles, cooked Fry sausage and beef in skillet with chopped onion and minced garlic, drain fat. Add spaghetti sauce and basil. Heat thoroughly. Reserve 1/2 cup of sauce. Mix Ricotta cheese, parsley flakes, Parmesan cheese and oregano. Cook noodles as directed on package. Mix the three shredded cheeses. Layer three lasagna noodles in ungreased 13x9x2 inch pan, 1/2 of the sauce mixture and drop by teaspoons 1/2 of the Ricotta cheese mixture, then sprinkle 1/2 of the shredded cheese. Repeat these steps again beginning with the three lasagna noodles and then layer three lasagna noodles on top and pour 1/2 cup of the reserved sauce on top and sprinkle with extra shredded cheese. Cover with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes and serve with salad and garlic bread. Makes 8-10 servings. |
