JAPANESE FRESH CAKE 
6 eggs
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beat after each addition. Sift flour and baking powder together; add alternately with milk.

(You can divide batter in half: in one half, add 1 cup pecans, 1 teaspoon each allspice, cloves, cinnamon, 3/4 box raisins. Leave other half of batter plain. (2 layers plain) (2 layers fancy).

FILLING:

2 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 grated coconut
Juice of 2 oranges
Grated rind of the 2 oranges
1 tbsp. butter
1 sm. can crushed pineapple

Bring all ingredients to a boil and when mixture boils, add 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Thicken.
