GRANDMA'S LAYERED SALAD 
1 head lettuce, shredded
1 green pepper, diced
1 c. chopped celery
1 lg. onion, chopped
16 oz. can peas, drained
2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. crisp bacon bits

Put ingredients in bowl, one at a time, in the order listed. Do not toss. Cover. Refrigerate overnight.
