STUFFED BELL PEPPERS | |
1 lb. ground meat 5-6 peppers 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste A little onion salt Salt and pepper Wash peppers, cut off tops and remove membrane. Par-boil peppers in water about 10 minutes (this shortens cooking time and insures they won't be tough). Pour off water and let peppers drain. Fry meat and drain off grease. Add seasoning. Separately mix sauce with paste. Use half of mixture to stir into meat in skillet. Arrange peppers in casserole and fill with meat mixture. Use other half of tomato sauce and paste to pour around peppers. Put top on casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until peppers are tender. Serve over rice. |
