APPLESAUCE - DATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. soft butter
2 c. hot applesauce
1 c. chopped dates
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease well and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix flour with baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and salt. Add eggs, brown sugar, butter, and 1 cup hot applesauce. Beat 3 minutes. Add remaining applesauce, dates, and nuts. Beat 1 minute. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 50 minutes. Cool. Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 tbsp. soft butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar

Combine cream cheese, butter, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
