HOMEMADE PRETZELS | |
2 packets dried yeast 1 1/2 c. warm water 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 4 c. flour 1 egg, beaten Pastry of coarse salt Mix yeast and water in bowl. Add sugar and table salt. Add flour; mix. Dough should not be too sticky. Put dough on wax paper and knead until smooth. Cut off pieces and make into shapes (pretzels, letters, numbers, etc.). Place on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg, covering completely. Sprinkle with pastry salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. |
