 Ginny Lyn (Washington) says:
I wrote a review on another version, then realized it was missing the coconut.

The one my Great-Grandmother made in early 1960's, in Oklahoma had cocoa powder, not chips, and it had peanut butter, coconut, and nuts all in it. I'm thinking the amounts are less here in this recipe, but not sure. Otherwise this was the original recipe she used. My Great Grandfather served in WW1. I was four and at their house the first time I had them. Delicious, super yummy!

We've made them before sometimes with walnuts and other times with pecans. Traditionally all of my kinfolk used pecans. Amble supply at harvest time at autumn in Oklahoma.

Absolutely the best recipe and you can not stop at one!
