QUICK BROWN BREAD | |
1 c. white flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. brown sugar 2 c. whole wheat flour 3 tbsp. melted butter 1/4 c. molasses 1 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 egg, beaten Mix well the first 5 dry ingredients together. Add all the wet ingredients. Hand mix until batter is smooth. Pour into a 9x5 loaf pan. Allow to stand 20 minutes. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. This is a good healthy, all purpose bread that our family loaves with any meal. Especially brown beans. |
